Established at the outset of 2023, the Center for Cultural Studies (FoKuS) is comprised of distinguished members: Martin Haltrich, former librarian of the Abbey, assumes the role of Head of FoKuS, overseeing project planning, development, and implementation. Max Theisen, a historian and programmer, is responsible for the implementation of digital applications, while Stephanie Zima, a German philologist and historian, serves as a research assistant, managing correspondence, editing, and conference organization, among other duties. FoKuS is dedicated to conducting research projects, fostering scientific exchange, and facilitating publications. The department collaborates closely with teams from the library, archive, and art collections to achieve its objectives.

Internship Opportunity: Medieval Manuscripts
Join us for a four-week internship in July 2026 at the library of Stift Klosterneuburg. Interns will explore medieval manuscripts through paleography, codicology, and manuscript description, while experimenting with digital tools. Participants will assist with cataloguing projects and develop their own research on historical collections, gaining hands-on experience with original sources.
