The Order of the Augustinian Canons goes back to Saint Augustine, who as Bishop of Hippo Regius (located in what is now Algeria) in the early 5^th century.

The Canonry of Klosterneuburg Abbey has about 37 members from Austria, Germany, Norway, Iceland, Poland, Romania, the United States of America and Vietnam.

Since its foundation in the 12th century, Klosterneuburg Abbey has had a multitude of vocations fulfilled by the canons and the staff in a variety of areas.

In all of their activities, the Augustinian Canons at Klosterneuburg Abbey have been committed to art and culture.

Klosterneuburg Abbey includes 28 parishes in Lower Austria, Vienna, Norway and the USA.
